January 2025 Newsletter

Hello everyone.

Welcome to the first newsletter of 2025 and there is a big change to announce, as well as a request for help – if you’re interested.

Firstly, the request for help. Last October, I embarked on an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology with the University of Wales, Trinity St Davids. This year I have my first mini-research project to do and I hope some of you may be willing to complete the (very) occasional survey I send out. However, this newsletter is not the right place to do the sending, even if it is occasional!

So, if you are even half interested in weird subjects like astrology or cultural astronomy, or even if you’re not, then I am inviting you to sign up to a separate newsletter through my personal site lindaph.co.uk. This is the only time I will make this request through this newsletter because ….

Sponsored by Crystal Clear Books, the publishing company I set up last year with my friend Sue, it will probably open in June and run until 31st August, although details still need to be finalised.

This newsletter will therefore be about Hysteria and what happens to our winners and runners up regarding their publishing adventures. We will also include the odd publishing adventure of our own as Sue and I work to develop, what we hope, will be one of the UKs favourite small publishers over the coming years.

As usual, all information about Hysteria is on the website but please wait while we make the final decisions about dates etc … and then update the site.

Finally, although the emails will still come from me, various settings with change including the company name and the email address for replies to recognise the change from something that has largely been personal, to something more suited to an international writing competition.
