Hysteria Writing Competition August 2025 Update

It’s the season of mellow mists and fruitfulness and as the days shorten and nights lengthen, it’s the perfect time to decide on your winter reading list. After all, what could be better than curling up with a good book on a cold winter’s day with a mug of something soothing.

Later this month, I’ll share the shortlist of finalists for each category. You never know, your name might be amongst those listed.

In the meantime, regular reader for the competition and past shortlisted winner, Heather Cook, has completed her latest poetry pamphlet with Crystal Clear Books. Titled, Beware the Exploding Yoghurt Pot, it is an honest and revealing account of her journey through the highs, lows and challenges of breast cancer, including the infamous yoghurt pot.
