Here we are already in August. The five months of my time as writer-in-residence got the Hysteria Writing Competition have flown by. Personally, it has been a tricky time as I was fairly immobile at first, gradually regaining some pain free movement after experiencing two collapsed vertebrae in March.
It’s July. The weeks fly by towards the deadline of 31st. August. Maybe your first draft, or even the second, is sitting on a shelf gestating after the initial creative flush. Good.

Welcome to my first blog as writer-in-residence for the Hysteria 10 writing competition. This is the third year I’ve been involved; twice as a reader and once as a finalist in flash fiction. Meeting other readers in Zoomland during the process and taking note of feedback from entrants made me want to ask this question.
